Mob hitmen, time travel, and the dilemma of having to kill your future self. That’s the premise for the awesome movie that Looper is.
It’s possible to watch it on Netflix, right? It’d be a shame if you’d have to sign up to a different streaming site and pay another subscription just to watch Looper. Don’t get us wrong – it’s definitely worth it, but it’s not the kind of change you’d be happy to make.
Well, you don’t need to worry about that – Looper is available on Netflix. There’s just one problem – you can’t watch it everywhere in the world.
Because Netflix uses geo-blocks to make sure the movie is only available in certain countries – the ones Netflix bought licensing rights for, to be exact.
So if the movie isn’t available in your country, you’re back to square one, is that it? You’re going to have to look for another streaming site that has it, right?
No, you don’t need to do anything so drastic. In fact, there’s a very simple way to unblock Looper in any country. We’ll tell you all about it in this article.
How to Unblock Looper on Netflix
We recommend using a VPN. It’s an easy-to-use service that hides your IP address. That way, Netflix can’t see your geo-location. Instead of it, Netflix will only see the VPN’s location. As long as it’s in a country where Looper is available to stream, you’ll have no problem watching it.
To use a VPN, you just need to register an account (yes, you’ll have to pay a subscription), download and install an app, and use it to connect to a server. When you’re done, you can start watching this amazing movie on Netflix.
How to Pick the Right VPN Server Locations for Looper
Okay, so a VPN unblocks this movie on Netflix. But how do you know which VPN server location to use? That implies knowing in which countries Looper is available on Netflix.
You can try asking on r/NetflixViaVPN, but it might take a while to get some answers. If you’d rather not wait, there’s a better alternative: ProPrivacy’s StreamCatcher. It’s a site you can use to find out which VPN servers you need to use to unblock a specific Netflix title.
When looking up Looper, it seems like your best bet is to use just one server location: Germany. StreamCatcher even tells you which VPN providers to use. In this case, it’s either NordVPN or PrivateVPN.
We tested both providers, and can confirm they work very well. We were able to easily unblock and watch this movie on Netflix. We watch half of it using NordVPN and half using PrivateVPN to make sure there are no issues.
Why Am I Seeing the Netflix Proxy Error When Using a VPN?
If that’s happening to you, it’s because Netflix is able to detect the VPN you’re using. Basically, the site blacklisted the service’s IPs. Whenever you try to visit or use Netflix with them, you’ll end up on the proxy error page.
The easiest way to avoid that issue is to use one of the VPNs we (and StreamCatcher) recommended: NordVPN or PrivateVPN. We never saw that error while using those providers.
If you’d like to use other VPNs, you can also try ExpressVPN, Surfshark, and CyberGhost VPN. We haven’t tested them yet, but have heard they also work well with Netflix.
So try sticking with these providers if possible. If you still see the Netflix proxy error, try this:
- Disconnect and reconnect to the server.
- Restart the VPN app.
- Update the VPN app.
- Connect to a different server.
- Use incognito/private mode.
- Clear your browser’s cookies.
If nothing works, contact the provider’s support team. They’ll be able to tell you what the issue is. They might also tell you which server you need to use to unblock a specific Netflix library. They don’t make that information public on their site so that Netflix doesn’t block their servers.
Should You Use a Dedicated IP with Netflix?
Not necessarily, but it can help you avoid detection. You’ll be the only one using the IP, so Netflix won’t be so suspicious. On their end, they’ll only see one sign-in from that VPN IP. With shared IPs, they see multiple sign-ins from one address, so they naturally assume it belongs to a VPN.
Both NordVPN and PrivateVPN offer dedicated IP addresses. And yes, both providers have dedicated IPs on German servers. PrivateVPN might be a better deal since you get the dedicated IP at no extra cost if you use OpenVPN TUN + UDP + 1194. NordVPN will charge you extra for this perk (it costs around $6-$7 per month).
Can You Unblock Looper on All Devices?
Yes, that shouldn’t be a problem. VPNs normally work on most platforms. NordVPN and PrivateVPN, for example, have user-friendly apps for the most popular operating systems: Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. You can also set them up on routers so that other devices can use VPN connections too.
You can also use VPNs to watch this movie on multiple devices at the same time. NordVPN and PrivateVPN support up to six parallel connections. That’s more than enough to enjoy Looper anywhere in your house, or share the subscription with the rest of your family so that they can watch this movie too.
Watching Looper on Netflix – The Bottom Line
You can watch this movie on Netflix, but only in a few countries. If you use NordVPN or PrivateVPN, you should be able to unblock Looper with a German server.
